Yirgacheffe is found within the state of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia, and it is located at the central south area of the country. It is divided into six woredas or districts and is home to the most exclusive and complex profiles Ethiopia have to offer.

That is the main reason why this small zone has profiled itself so well within the global coffee market. Here the coffee is grown by small-holders whom each own 0,25 to 2 hectares of land. The Cooperatives, washing and drying stations are the collection points where all cherries are gathered for processing.

In the heart of the Yirgacheffe Kebele, you will find Halo Beriti washing and drying station that collects cherries from 520 neighboring smallholders. It is a small site that covers approximately 0.55 hectares of land, located at 2040 meters above sea level.

The average grower plots are no larger than a hectare, and they sit at heights ranging between 1900 and 2150 m.a.s.l. On these plots or production gardens, farmers grow avocado, enset, soya beans, and sugar cane besides their coffee trees.

Naturals process: go straight to the drying beds after arriving at the station and dry between 14 and 21 days.
